I AM NOT
ALONE
A story by George
An Owl hooted in
the darkness, and I realised I was alone. It was as cold as the
inside of a freezer, it was as dark as the back of a cave. Suddenly
I heard a sound and turned round and Roger Rabbit popped out of
the bush and shouted "Hello George!" and I replied,
"Hello Roger, boy am I glad to see you!"
We began walking
along a path we found, and at the end Oscar Owl swooped down and
knocked Sam Squirrel off an oak tree branch. Sam Squirrel said
unhappily, " Why did you do that to me?" (brushing dust
off his fluffy red tail).
Oscar Owl replied,
" Well I am sorry but I can't see, so I am off to get some
glasses, Bye." While we were waiting we decided to play cards.
When I was going to put my queen of hearts down a wind blew and
my queen of hearts blew away. We looked everywhere but couldn't
find it. Just then Oscar returned wearing his sparkling new glasses,
they had gleaming gold rims. We all said "Oh you look ever
so clever in those gleaming golden new glasses."
"Please could
you help us look for our queen of hearts?" Oscar replied
kindly with "Why certainly I'll search harder than I've ever
searched before!"
Oscar looked everywhere
until he found it hidden in a bush. "Thank you, those glasses
really are as good as they look," I said to him.
He replied with,
"You're welcome."
