The Loch Ness Monster

An adventure story by Abi.

 

1

The Plan

It all happened one day in our school library, when me and my friend Jess were in year Seven.

We were into discovery books. It was a series about our country - Scotland. One week they published one all about the lochs. We were just merrily flicking through it when we saw a big page with "important" written on the top...........

"Cool," said Jess, pointing at the advertisement.

"What's so cool," I asked her. She shoved the book in my face. "Wow that is cool," I thought. They were going to give the first person to find Elobo and bring it to them, a three thousand pound reward.You're probably wondering who Elobo was, well he was the Loch Ness Monster and it had always been my dream to see it, so, I guess that's how it all started.

"Hey Jess, do you not think it's a good idea? I mean don't you want to try it?" I asked her.

"Fine, but.........I've not got any ideas."

"Jess, ahy think I got a plan." My slick old catch phrase!

The Expedition

"Look Jess, all I need is my fish, and all you need are your fish," I tried to explain.

"Look," she said, "You're not using my fish, I QUIT bye!!!" So that's all she had to do with it.

Ding-a-Ding-a-Ring-a-Ring-a, the school bell rang three-thirty. I ran out of the gate and crossed the road and went to my front door. The fish were swimming in their mini aquarium. I ran to the garage and tore a plastic bag off the shelf. I went to the kitchen and filled the plastic bag with water and then poured the contents of the aquarium into it. "Bye Mum, I'm going out," I hollered and without waiting for an answer I set off on my quest!!!

Loch Ness is on the other side of town, Mum and Dad always told me about it so it couldn't be that hard to find - boy was I wrong!

The Capture

When I finally found the loch (located behind the town hall), I released the fish into the water and I swam on the surface. Then, we found the monster. It looked green and red, the shape of a dinosaur and it was doing a dance, like he was glad someone had found him.

But it wasn't going to be that easy, I had to trap him. The fish were swimming around him-he was already trapped! Now all I had to do, was to get him to the Discovery Studios.

I picked up Elobo and swam to the shore with him, he seemed friendly. I ran with him as I didn't have a car.

The End

I found the studio and I gave them the monster. They gave me a reward and I carried on doing the discovery tasks and that's how I became the richest man in the world.
