All About ANTS.

The ant's body is made up of three parts.

 The abdomen

This is the back and is the largest part of the ant's body.

The head

The eyes and the antennae grow from the head.

 The thorax

The thorax is the middle part and the legs grow from this. The ant has six legs.

Because they have all these characteristics ants are classed as INSECTS.

In most ant species the males have wings all through their life.

The females have wings until after they have mated.

Some ants remain without wings all their life.

These are called worker ants and are usually female.
