The parts of a flower
The petals can be brightly coloured to attract insects.
Anther
The stamen is the male part of the flower. There is an anther and a filament. Pollen grains are found on the anther.
Filament
The carpel is the female part of the flower. There is a stigma, a style and an ovary. Seeds form in the ovary.
The sepals enclose the flower when it is a bud. They protect it.
